Monthly Book Reports and Semester Projects

Each month a book report will need to be turned in on the last Tuesday of the month. There is a beginner option and an advanced option.  We will decide together what is best for each student.

Each semester a project will be turned in.  The due dates for those are listed below. There are 2 options each semester.  Choose only one to complete each semester.  Click on the picture for a rubric of each one.

Each month you will be required to do a book report.  You will choose either a fiction or nonfiction book to read.

Semester 1 Project Choices

Country Flags

Each student will choose a country to learn more about.  Click on the picture above to see the requirements for the Country Report project.  They will also create a brochure convincing others to come to their country for a visit!Sample Brochure

City landmark

Students will choose a famous landmark.  They will research more about this landmark. They will need to create a replica of their chosen landmark.

Students will research or do an experiment about a topic.  They will need to create a poster about their findings.

Students will build and explain a project of their choice.  They will need to create a poster that explains how it works.

Semester 3 Project Choices
Due: March 3

Students will chose and research a famous (or infamous) person in History.  Students will dress up like their character.

Students will learn the difference between traditions and culture as they create a collage about their family's holiday traditions, and what their ancestors culture was like for the holidays.

Tropical Party

Students will pair up or group up and create a game for everyone else to play.  It can be a silly, simple, classic or new game.   Then we will have hamburgers and a little dance party to finish off the year!
